Real answers to the questions people ask us most about NDIS supports in Adelaide. If yours is not here, get in touch and we will happily talk it through.
Getting started
Call us on 08 8486 1194 or send an enquiry. We have a short chat about what you need, check what your plan covers, then set up a free meet and greet with your proposed support worker before any shift starts.
Yes. You meet your proposed support worker before any support begins, and if the match is not right we arrange someone else. No questions asked. Consistency matters, so once you are happy we keep the same small team around you.
You are always free to change providers. Check the notice period in your current service agreement, let your provider know, and we will handle the rest of the transition with you or your support coordinator so there is no gap in your supports.
Yes. Use our referral form and our intake team will pick it up from there.
Costs and funding
Support worker rates are set by the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits, which cap what registered providers can charge for each type of support. Your service agreement lists our exact rates before anything starts, so there are no surprises.
Supports are charged by the hour, with a minimum shift time of 2 hours.
No. Other than the 2 hour minimum shift, we can support you as often as you need. What is practical will depend on your NDIS funding and your goals, and we will help you work that out.
Yes. Travel with a support worker to appointments, work, study or community activities is funded through your Core supports, and some participants also receive a transport allowance. Read more on our Transport page.
Yes. Help with cleaning, laundry, meal preparation and other household tasks comes under Assistance with Daily Life in your Core budget. See our Assistance with Daily Life page.
Our supports
A Support Coordinator helps you understand your NDIS plan and put it to work: connecting you with providers, setting up service agreements, tracking your budget and preparing you for plan reviews. Learn more on our Support Coordination page.
Both help you use your NDIS plan, but a Psychosocial Recovery Coach specialises in mental health. Recovery Coaches have mental health training or lived experience and work more closely with you on motivation, resilience and capacity. Learn more on our Recovery Coaching page.
SIL is NDIS funding for help with daily tasks in your home, available up to 24 hours a day. It suits participants with higher support needs, living alone or with housemates. Learn more on our Supported Independent Living page.
We support participants across most of Greater Adelaide, from the northern suburbs to the south coast and up into the Adelaide Hills. Our admin team is based in Evandale, a few minutes from the CBD. See our areas we service page for the full list.
Working with us
Yes. Authentic Care & Support Services is a registered NDIS provider, which means we are audited against the NDIS Practice Standards and can support self managed, plan managed and NDIA managed participants.
Our pricing follows the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits. During onboarding we give you a full list of our rates in your service agreement, and we let you know whenever the NDIA updates its pricing.
Speak with your support worker or any member of our team, call us, email [email protected] or use our feedback form, anonymously if you prefer.
If you feel your concern has not been resolved, you can contact the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission on 1800 035 544 or at ndiscommission.gov.au.
